What's New?

» March 2, 2005: We got some new style sheets added, a whole new look!

» June 14, 2004: A brand new day is here for the MLX. This is the first iteration of the open source generalized version of the MLX.

This MLX Learning eXchange (MLX) is an electronic warehouse of ideas, examples, and resources (represented as "packages") and is a demo version of the very first open source MLX. The original MLX, the Maricopa Learning eXchange, was developed in 2000 specifically for the Maricopa Community Colleges sharing of ideas, projects, etc, anything created or developed at Maricopa related to learning.

Given the broad definition, the metaphor is a large, virtual "warehouse" full of "packages" that have been created by anyone at Maricopa. Each "package" is decscribed by its "packing slip"... we have essentialy created what other places label as "repositories" with content described by "meta-data", but we have skipped all the heavy jargon.

The concept of the MLX is that it is open to anyone on the internet to search, browse, and use (with accordnace to our Creative Commons licensing).

Given the large amount of expressed interest in the MLX concept, we have been working to remove all aspects specific to Maricopa to provide an open source version that other instuttions and organizations can use.

As this is an active contruction area, please wear your hardhats and observe all proper safety procedures. Contents will settle in eventually. This is filler.

This MLX is hosted at the Maricopa Community Colleges as a test environment for the new and spiffier openMLX. This is an example of a custom footer that can be modified for other intallations.
